East Bay Women’s Network (EBWN) invites you to our outstanding monthly networking luncheon meeting: “What Is Your Legacy?” on Wednesday, September 5th, 11:15 to 1:30 at the Grandview Pavilion 300 Island Drive, Alameda.
What does it take to start a business and be profitable when you have a non profit heart? Jefferson Awardee Delane Sims has done just that. She created a successful thriving business then added a community support component that helps single Moms become more effective parents. Her story is powerful and uplifting.
We all want to help other women but most of us find it difficult to find the time and resources to do so. September 5th will be one of those terrific EBWN woman bonding days! Come to our next EBWN Meeting to hear how Delane got created to space to both be successful and help others in the process.
Delane Sims was once employed by the ACLU and left to continue her education and to start her own business, Delane’s Natural Nail Care (DNNC) a 5 star rated nail salon, in San Leandro. But that was not enough. Sims set up DNNC to be an entrepreneurial incubator called DNNC Steps To Success. The “women-helping-women” model she created has both staff and clients working together to mentor and support single mothers who are striving to become better parents and more proficient in their new careers are nail technicians.
